It you are a group of couples try to book the 'climbers cabin' instead.||||We have stayed in a larger cabin at one of the big sites in the area and it was nowhere near as well equipt or as idyllic as Windy Corner. Due to this cabin is probably better suited to a couple, a family or group of friends rather than 2 or 3 separate couples.
We met Wendy a few days after we arrived, she was very friendly and again full of useful local knowledge she was willing to share.||||The only downside to the cabin is that the loft has 2 double beds but they are not private from each other or the downstairs. When we arrived the cabin was clean and we were provided with clean bedding and towels every week.
He also offered use the use of his laundry facilities but there is a new business close by that meant we didn't need to disturb him to keep our clothes clean.||||During our extended stay Wendy (Red River Outdoors) was in contact regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. He shared some of his 'local' climbing info so we managed to escape the crowds most of the time. ||||Dr Bob was very friendly and his little dogs are delightful. Wendy who manages the cabin did offer to bring more heaters but it wasn't necessary.
||We didn't watch any TV but there is one with a DVD player and 'Dr Bob' has a huge selection of films you can borrow if you like.||||It got chilly during our stay but there is a gas fire and space heater to keep the cabin cosy. The cast and crew of My Brilliant Friend: The Story of a New Name give a sneak peek. Everything we needed to prepare meals was found in the kitchen - it was perfect. The grounds of the cabin are just breathtaking - 2 minutes hike and you can find the waterfall or a homemade swing hanging from a rock face, it is like being on the set of movie.||||We booked early (10 months in advance) and the reservation process was easy.||||As a couple we stayed in the downstairs of the cabin which has a lovely open plan living/dining & extremely well stocked kitchen area with off shot bathroom and queen bedroom. We rented windy corner cabin to be in the heart of the gorge for a 3 week climbing trip with the added bonus of being able to climb at the amazing 'torrent falls'.
